I’ve always liked Chan Wook Park’s films. Mostly, for the cinematography – there are master directors in his league, but I haven’t seen the better ones. This movie is no exception and might be even more effective than his others works (Hollywood’s big budget helps for sure). Every shot is taken care of, as well as acting and music. For the highest rating, I missed a better script. The ending seemed forced and fake, that’s why this movie isn’t praised on the internet. I wish Chan Wook wrote the script himself. Anyway, if you don’t pay much attention to cinematography (little details, interesting lighting, shadows, slow-downs, colors etc.), but more to scenario (how much action, what happens next, how will it end), then this movie shouldn’t make an impact. But story aside, this is a piece of art from start to finish.
