Overview
On an isolated island in Brittany at the end of the eighteenth century, a female painter is obliged to paint a wedding portrait of a young woman.
I expected this to be like Room in Rome, but got an essentially different slow burner, which is not necessarily worse than the later. It’s a touching drama with master performances, amazing cinematography and beautiful music. I didn’t imagine Vivaldi’s Summer to sound this good in a context of this movie.
