Overview
Living with her tyrannical stepfather in a new home with her pregnant mother, 10-year-old Ofelia feels alone until she explores a decaying labyrinth guarded by a mysterious faun who claims to know her destiny. If she wishes to return to her real father, Ofelia must complete three terrifying tasks.
I was quite young when I saw this in a cinema. Expected an adventure, got a serious drama instead, but even then, I didn’t regret for seeing this movie. I knew there is something special about it. Then years later I gave it another go only to confirm it’s an absolute masterpiece. It’s a sad but beautiful fairytale with a stunning decorations and costumes, amazing cinematography, rich characters and nice soundtrack.
