Horror, Action

When Blade’s mother was bitten by a vampire during pregnancy, she did not know that she gave her son a special gift while dying—all the good vampire attributes in combination with the best human skills. Blade and his mentor battle an evil vampire rebel who plans to take over the outdated vampire council, capture Blade and resurrect a voracious blood god.

I like The Blade trilogy for what it is. It’s just action done with class. The movie has its style, the effects and acting are good and the script is…

The OSSA discovers a spacecraft thought to be at least 300 years old at the bottom of the ocean. Immediately following the discovery, they decide to send a team down to the depths of the ocean to study the space craft. They are the best of best, smart and logical, and the perfect choice to learn more about the spacecraft.

Very interesting movie. Not only in its idea, but how it goes from good to bad, and back to good. The beginning is a very entertaining sci-fi mystery thriller, the…

Action, Drama, Thriller

A misguided museum guard who loses his job and then tries to get it back at gunpoint is thrown into the fierce world of ratings-driven TV gone mad.

Entertaining and well-acted political thriller sacrifices some of its ideas for the easier watching experience, but still leaves you something to think about.

Contact is a science fiction film about an encounter with alien intelligence. Based on the novel by Carl Sagan the film starred Jodie Foster as the one chosen scientist who must make some difficult decisions between her beliefs, the truth, and reality.

A clever and well executed sci-fi story. There is a great balance between science and human angle, which reminds me of Arrival in a way.

1997
Drama, Thriller, Mystery

A tormented jazz musician finds himself lost in an enigmatic story involving murder, surveillance, gangsters, doppelgangers, and an impossible transformation inside a prison cell.

Woah, a hardcore psychedelic odyssey. Sexy, stylish, well-acted, you name it. The only problem is that it’s too darn confusing.

On the run after murdering a man, accountant William Blake encounters a strange North American man named Nobody who prepares him for his journey into the spiritual world.

Philosophical surreal journey to another world. Great music and acting, but there are some cheap scenes that stop me from giving the highest rating.

A naive business graduate is installed as president of a manufacturing company as part of a stock scam.

Lots of creativity and tons of symbolism here. A bit too much to handle even for Coens, but with a help of a master performance by Tim Robbins, they got…

Thriller, Drama, Romance

After hearing stories of her, a passenger on a cruise ship develops an irresistible infatuation with an eccentric paraplegic’s wife.

A multi-layered complex psychological drama. It might be trying too hard at times, might have been shorter and easier to watch, but the ending… Not only it pays off, it’s…

1994
Thriller, Crime

A burger-loving hit man, his philosophical partner, a drug-addled gangster’s moll and a washed-up boxer converge in this sprawling, comedic crime caper. Their adventures unfurl in three stories that ingeniously trip back and forth in time.

Not sure if it’s worth this amount of attention, but yah, it’s good and has one of the strongest scripts compared to his other movies.

A vampire relates his epic life story of love, betrayal, loneliness, and dark hunger to an over-curious reporter.

Atmospheric and gothic. That’s the words that first come to mind. It’s nicely shot, the acting is good as expected, and the movie isn’t too cheesy like the similar movie…
